This is the Tamiya Initial Production kit that I backdated to the prototype with the Vorpanzer armour. The conversion set was from Crommwell models and is a resin set, the snorkel was taken from the Dragon Initial Production kit as I im not going to use it on my Dragon tiger, as for the snorkel cover, it was taken from the dragon late Tiger 1 as you get the cover from the Inial kit in with it.
I used the Dragon Inital Tiger tracks on this model and am going to put some Model Kasten tracks on my Dragon kit.
When completed I primed the model with Halfords black primer then let it dry for a day, I then sprayed the model with Tamiya XF-63 German grey then sprayed a light coat of LifeColor dark grey.
Before I started the weathering process disaster struck when my wife knocked the model of my table only for it to land upside down and breaking the snorkel off. The weathering consisted of oil washes and filters, it was while doing the filters that the second disaster struck when working on the turret the paint started to just come away with the brush, so I had to get the oven cleaner out and strip the paint of the turret, thankfully it never stripped the primer away so that was one less job I had to do. Once again I spray the turret with Tamiya XF-63 then a light over coat of Humbrol #67 Tank Grey. Weathering on the turret only consisted of an oil wash. When all was dry the model was matted down with Humbrol matt coat sprayed with an airbrush.
