This 1:35th scale model started out as an American Vietnam War Tamyia kit. I used conversion sets from Maple Leaf Models (MLM) to add the external fuel tanks, wear guards, wire cutters and the grouser rack. The 5O cal. machine gun is a resin kit by Legend. The decales are from Quarter Master Depot. The flak jacket, gas mask and ruck sack are resin kits from MLM. The helmets are provided from MLM with the ruck sacks, however they are the new Canadian forces kevlar helmet, and I wanted to model a late '90s vehicle, so I used the old pot style helmet from an old Dragon figure. They are painted by hand as to repersent the old American woodland camouflage pattern helmet covers Canadian Forces members wore before the days of CADPAT. The model was airbrushed to make a simple camouflage job I used Play-Doh as a mask for each different pattern. Most Canadian forces vehicles of the '80s and '90s were painted in a three colour scheme of two shades of green with black.
