This is an Iltis Jeep used by 3 RCR DFS platoon roto 0 in 2003 in Afghanistan. My jeep started out as a 1:35 all resin kit by elite Germany. I had to convert the seats and Jerry can and spare tire to the correct areas. I used the TOW missile system from a Tamiya Ford Mutt kit. The C9 LMG up front placed next to the helmet is from Trumpeter. I had to build a sight for it and I made a simple sling from paper and a water mixture and white glue.
The Helmet is a Resin kit from MLM Canada, it is the correct issued helmet used by Canadian Forces, and I painfully hand painted on the CADPAT pattern. The wind shield was folded down and covered with a blast blanket, I made mine from tissue and again water and white glue mixture. The "ISAF" in white on the sides was painted on by brush, as the real vehicles had sloppy sprayed on stencils over there and I wanted mine to look the same which was "not perfect" but it got the job done.
The head lights and mirrors were made using tin foil, and the sights on the TOW system is Confetti bought from a dollar store. The CFR plates on the front and back are decals from Quarter Masters Depot of Ottawa Canada.
I had a lot of fun making this simple conversion, thanks for looking.
