Hans Goerth

This is a bust of Hans Goerth who from what knowledge that I have been able to find is the only WW I German pilot to obtain the status of ‘ace’ while flying the Fokker D. VIII.

Mike Good sculpted this bust for DML to be included in their 1/48th Fokker D. VIII kit. I sold the plane to a friend but kept the bust. He was painted entirely in Winsor/Newton oils around 1994. Of all the busts that Mike Good sculpted for DML this has been my favorite.
