First I apologize for the poor pictures. I no longer have the diorama and had to scan the photographs from a magazine article.
This diorama is called ‘Guadalcanal’ and appeared in the July 1985 issue of Military Modeler. I sold the diorama to a gentleman in Pennsylvania. The diorama consists of Tamiya’s Type 97 Chi-Ha tank and Japanese Army infantry. I remember replacing the screens over the mufflers but other than that not any other details. This was my first attempt at using oil paints to paint figures. That was a real eye opener.
This article was my very first ever published. Though it is over 20 years old I thought it would fit track-link’s Pacific theme.
