M1A1 Abrams, 3rd Infantry Division, Iraq 2003

This is DML's 1:72 scale Abrams. A nice kit, built almost out of the box, except of the stowage on the turret that's coming from spare parts and some scratchbuildings. It's painted in Lifecolor acrylics by airbrush and weathered with pastel powders to simulate the extreme conditions due to sand action; the road is made with sandpaper and polystyrene for the sidewalk, all the roadsigns are taken from some pictures on an old Newsweek issue. This model has been a good match to improve my weathering techniques, especially the ones due to dust and sand.
