All three of these models I have made a general review on Track-Link previously so I won’t go into detail about the kits. The tractor is the Autocar T3144 by real Models, 16t Fruehauf trailer is by P.S.P. and the Caterpillar D7 bulldozer is by Resicast. Of the three models the easiest to build was the trailer it was also the best cast of the three. Most difficult was the tractor with a lot of poor casting and many missing details.
Using the reference supplied in the Resicast kit I added some details to the engine and cab. The Autocar was finished 10-9-03, Fruehauf trailer finished 10-5-03 and dozer finished 10-1-03.
All the markings were copied from photographs that my father took in the Philippines during WW II. The markings were added using Archer dry transfers. Painting was PollyScale acrylics followed by Winsor/Newton oil washes and oil drybrushing with final drybrushing accomplished using Vallejo acrylics. Instruments and placards are from Fingerprint decals. Weathering was done with Winsor/Newton watercolors, Bragdon rust, Rustall, Gamblin pigments, linseed oil and a No. 2 pencil.
I eventually want to place the vehicles along with the Type 89 I submitted earlier into a Philippines diorama featuring a figure I’m sculpting of my father.
