T-34/85, 1/72nd scale

Now that I’ve posted everything that I have finished for the Pacific theme I’m going back through some older models to post on track-link.

This is the Fujimi 1/72nd T-34/85. It was built basically out of the box with some fine grab handles made of brass wire. Finishing was mostly Tamiya paints and watercolors for washes. The model was completed about 1989. It was to be part of a scale display for our local club. Along with this model were to be a Bandai 1/48th scale T-34, a conversion of the T-34/85 in 1/35tth scale (posted on track-link) and a 1/25th scale Tamiya T-34/85. The 1/25th T-34 was already built and given to me. The 1/48th would have needed a scratch-built turret because the only T-34 I had was the 1942 version. I gave up on the idea when I looked at the Tamiya kit and seen it would take a lot of work and 1/16th scale started up. So the Bandai kit was sold to a friend that wargames in the scale in Winnipeg and I gave the Tamiya kit away. I still want to do a scale reference display for public model shows but now I may do the Porsche King Tiger. We’ll see how far the scale project gets.
