Hummel

This is the DML late Hummel, kit 6004. Its built pretty much OOTB. I did change the drive sprockets to late PZ IV sprockets as it seems I read somewhere these were more correct than the kit supplied ones (which, by the way do not match the box art). I redid the cammo ties with copper wire and used stainless steel wire for the antenna. Painted with Model Master paints. Oil washes. The mud/dirt stains are done with Badger Field Drab acrylic. First time I have tried this paint which I spotted at a model train shop. Then I scrubbed on some pastel powder.

When doing the finial weathering I noticed I had installed the idler arms backward, which made the track runs much shorter. So…. it became a late war field mod due to the chronic shortage of track ;)
