The base kit is the DML King Tiger (6232) with the late type tracks. It is built pretty much OOTB but there were several changes made:
* I didn't add the track mounting cable.
* No jack or jackblock was added.
* In the instructions the rain guard over the sight must be cut but I did not do that.
* The AA gun ring was replced with a post in front of the hatch-pivot.
* The number of spare track hangers on the turret was changed.
* Camouflage loops were added to the sides of the turret with thin brass wire. I also modified a bit the tool clasps.
* The hatch in the rear of the turret had its upper corners beveled and two small disks added.
I remade all the welds on the tank and textured the sides and front with glue, putty and a old toothbrush.
It was painted with Humbrol paints. Weathered with a wash and the "dusting" was made with an airbrush. On the lower hull the mud was made with mix of pastels and thinner. The tracks came from the kit. They require a lot of work as every link has three attachment points to the sprue and three pinmarks wich all have to be filled and sanded.
