Leopard 1-V

Model by Klaus Eberl

This is my version of the Leopard currently in service with the Chilean Army. They were acquired from the Netherlands in late 1990s. The model represents a vehicle in service in the 1st Army Division. Itīs combination of two kits; I used most of the Italeri Leopard 2A2 and the turret armour and PZB 200 from the Revell Leopard 1A1A1/A1A5. The wheels, infantry telephone and side boxes are resin from Accurate Armour conversion for the Leopard 1A5. Also from that set is the grill and tow cables. I scratch-built the antenna bases, thermal camera base and smoke grenade launchers and its protection. The storage was from the spare box and scratch built. Decals were home made. Jerrycan holders were kitbashed from a MCV Warrior. The model was painted with a primer coat of Humbrol enamels, then base colour and washes with Vallejo Acrylics and was weathered with Mig Pigments, Tamiya Weathering Master and dry pastels.
