This is the old Tamiya M48A3 built pretty much out of the box. This is one of my old shelf queens I just painted. I actually finished construction about 2 years ago, just never painted. I used the AFV Club workable link track set. Mantel gasket (?) is Testors white putty, the last time I used the stuff. Not a very good job now that I look at it. Electrical conduit to the search light is solder. Somewhere between the time I finished it and I got around to painting, the right headlight assembly went AWOL so it became battle damage. It is meant to depict a Vietnam ear tank. Stowage was borrowed from a couple of Academy kits. Antenna is steel wire. Tarp over the light is masking tape.
Painted with Model Master Olive Drab. Then a Lacquer sealer followed by decals. This is one of the models I mentioned in the forum where the oil wash did not dry. It was really bad on this one. Most of the model remained tacky to the touch. About two hours in front of an electric heater, followed by another coat of flat Lacquer finally cured the problem. Then I painted a mixture of Testors Flat rust and Model Master flat White on the lower parts of the tank to simulate the red dirt/dust so common in Nam. Finished off with a liberal dusting with pastels.
