Using the 1/35 Tamiya M3A2 as a base, this is my first backdating project to create the M3 vehicle. After removing the molded on ladder and rear rack, I used the Verlinden resin and photo-etched after-market set to complete the transformation. I also added the engine detail set from Verlinden.
I painted the vehicle with Testors Olive Drab enamel and clear coat of Future (first time trying this). Added decals, then sprayed with Testors Dullcoat. Once I added the wash (alcohol and Polly-S Grimy Black) I got a white reaction on portions of the vehicle. While I was not happy with the initial result, it does give a feel the M3 is in a winter time setting.
I hope you enjoy the end result and please feel free to comment. At the age of 43, I'm still eager to learn and better my modelling skills. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
