M4A2 Tarawa

This is the DML M4A2 Tarawa kit built out of the box. The only non kit parts are the hatch grab handles which I replaced with wire, and the toolclasps, which I used left over parts from the PE sprue. The fit was superb. The only issue was the undersized finial drive covers, which has been covered well in Terry Ashleys fine review. The kit tracks had the mashed guide teeth from the packaging, but I soaked them in hot water for 20 minutes and it cured them fine. PE is from the kit. Painted with model master olive drab, weathered with oils and MMP powder. The white powder is meant to depict the fine white sand found on the beaches of Tarawa. Just for fun I made all the hatches workable. The kit comes with no interior, but the interior detail on the hatches was so good I hated to glue them shut. So this way I may get around to adding some crew figures some day.
