M4A2 75mm - Tarentaise - 2eme DB - 12eme RCA

This model represents a tank of the 2.pleton, 2.escadron of the 12. Regiment Chasseurs d'Afrique of the Free French 2. DB in Normandy, summer 1944. Some pictures of 'Tarentaise' can be seen in the superb book 'Les Sherman francais de la libération' from Editions du Barbotin which was my favorite research source.

The kit was built with the new Dragon M4A2 "Tarawa". I switched the excellent kit turret with one from Tamiya to use the Tank Workshop interior. Some other modifications like the big stowage box on the rear were build scratch. I also used several after-market products such as Formations Sherman Pioneer Tools and Aber photo etch parts. It was painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with oil colors. The markings are mainly from the old Verlinen dry decal sheet 289 "French Tank Insignia".
