The Tamiya kit of the Jagdpanther was built using Aber's photo etch set, a Jordi Rubio barrel and a set of Anvil's tracks. The kit was built as per the Tamiya instructions, substituting Aber's very extensive PE set were necessary. Various welds were added using thin strips of plastic card cemented into place, allowed to dry, then textured using a dremel tool and then softened with another application of cement. The heavy welds of the hull armour plate were also textured with the dremel and cement technique. Various other small areas were detailed with plastic card and plastic tubing including the barrel cleaning rod storage tube and fire extinguisher. Once the kit was together, it was primed, and pre shaded with a coat of flat black followed by the three tone camouflage. The three tone camo was applied in light layers allowing the black to show through along edges and areas of deep shadows. Following the paint application, the kit was shot with a coat of Future floor wax and allowed to dry several days before the decals were added. The lower hull and road wheels were then weathered with various shades of earth colors and the upper hull faded with light coatings of buff until the desired effect was obtained. Rusty and black mixes of pastels were diluted in alcohol and applied with a fine brush to areas of deep recesses were moisture would lay. Shortly after, the shipment of Anvil tracks arrived from Absolute Hobbies and they were snapped together, these track sets are great !! OK enough said, the 2 runs were then painted using blacks and dark browns. A very light dry brushing of the lightened base colors and gun metal was applied to the appropriate areas. Tracks, tow cables, track racks and exhaust systems were then dusted with pastels before the final application of Polly S flat was applied.
