Renault UE tankette

As some of you may know from following my BLOG on the Char B I like to build more than one similar model at one time. I have been building this Renault tankette along side the Char B. I have 2 more parts to finish on the Char and that will be posted soon.

This kit is by Mirage and it is pretty basic. The fenders and muffler shroud were replaced with copper foil using the kit parts as masters. My daughter's cat lost one of the domes and I had to cast another. What view ports were on the domes were filled with epoxy putty and rescribed thinner. The tracks were short so I had to scratch-build several links for both sides. Tow cable was replaced with an Emporium item.

Painting and weathering are exactly like the Char B. Not sure what I'm going to do with the tankette yet but it sure is cute.
