This is my Tiger 2 from Tamiya. I got the model as a gift, it was assembled by a child so it was necessary to to rebuild it anew. For reference I used "Germany's Tiger tanks VK45.02 to Tiger II Thomas L Jentz and Hilary L. Doyle".
The kit has incorrect sized turret roof plates, and consequenly, incorrectly located fan, hatches and so forth. I also converted it to a commander's tank of the first series (July 44), with welded commander's cuppola, early loaders hatch, without corners under the pilsen and rod a sight from a rain. I also added all welded seams, zimmerit from Tamiya putty, altered armour protection of periscopes, loader's hatch, corrected commander hatch armour protection. The fenders and side armor has made from thin brass, they were made removeable too. The antennas and "star antenna" mount was made in plastic too. All of the tool mounts are added and the towcable are scratch-built. I used Tamiya grill's set.
It was finished as a tank of the 501 battalion nearer Sandomir where there was a lot of sand and dirts.
