Sd. Kfz. 250/3

This is Tamiya's old 250/3 "Greif" half-track, which some argue is a more of a 250/5. This one is built generally out of the box, but I sanded down the molded-on detail from the right side fender (not visible in photo), and added a good deal of scratch stowage, particularly tissue-paper bedrolls. I also added micro-chain and some picture hanging wire for the tow cable.

The kit is finished in Tamiya acrylics, brush painted after my airbrush hose exploded the weekend before I was going to start the paint job. The exterior is a combo of various shades of Desert Sand and Dark Yellow. I also dry brushed the vehicle extensively, attempting to simulate a coat of panzer-grey underneath the vehicle's present desert scheme.

This was my first attempt at a vehicle interior. The interior is finished in panzer-grey, as I assumed this part would not be repainted once arriving in the North African theatre. The radio gear was brush painted with Testors enamels. The rest of the gear was finished using Tamiya acrylics.
