I almost put this into the diorama category with the title 'Give it back'. The scene shows a German captured Firefly Vc, called Buete Panzer (captured tank) being recaptured by British commandos working with a woman of the French Resistance. They have trapped the Buete Panzer by conveniently having a broken cart right where there's a piece of wall and some tree trunks along a narrow road. Unaware it's a trap, the tank crew has stopped to offer assistance and fallen into the trap.
I have no idea if anything like this ever happened but I do know that at least one captured Firefly was recaptured at some time during the war.
The Firefly is the new Tasca kit. I added tool straps and some left over Formations tools. The box on the right side of the turret is a smoke discharger with two remote firing handles mounted a little further back on the turret. I'm not sure this is correct since the photos of the captured Firefly aren't that clear. I took a guess and modeled this based on other photos of the British style smoke dischargers.
The tank is painted based on photos and an artist rendering in the book 'Captured American and Brtish Tanks Under the German Flag'.
The cart is a Verlinden item as is the woman figure. The commandos are from Dragon with Ultracast heads and the German tank crew is a modified MiniArt set (big mistake). The wall and trees are from Armand Bayardi and the ground work is dirt from my yard. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
