This kit is the Tamiya #35200. The kit was super detailed using the driver compartment interior from Bill Miley of CMD. The interior of the Wespe cabin was super detailed using the Aber and Eduard photo etched sets. The photo etched parts used were soldered together not super glued! I used solder Flux, and silver solder. The Aber etched parts are the best type for soldering, they have a nice shiny coating that takes the Flux and the solder very well. I used FruilModelismo tracks that used the old link to link system. The tracks were given a wash of Floquil Roof Brown, and a soft wire brush at slow speed was used on a motor tool to bring out the shinny metal worn spots on the tracks.
This model was truly a joy to build. It has taken 4 1st place finishes for W.WII Axis Armor "Open Top" at different IPMS show in the North East USA from 1998 to 1999, a Silver Medal at North EastCon '99 in Buffalo, and a Gold Medal at AMPS '99.
