This is the old Tamiya 1943 kit. It was painted with ModelMaster enamels and weathered with oils and pastels. The large cross decal is from a 1/48th scale Me109 kit. It is the large cross that went on the 109 fuesalage. The numbers are Archer dry tranfers. Instead of replacing or painting the headlight glasss, I left it off and thinned the housing down and added a couple wires inside the housing to give the impression of the broken headlight. I had a difficult time with the set of screens that go on the outside of the rear deck. It seemed as if when they were set in flush with the deck. There was a gap one could put their fist through. The way they are set on the hull is more than likely wrong but it was the only way they'd set in without a gap. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
