BTR-T and DPM Urban Infantry Support Vehicle

1/35 scale SP Designs kit. This is a older kit that has been long Out of Production. I combined a BTR-T kit with the turret from a DPM kit so I could have a 2 in 1! Added details include: Hull: Tamiya T-55 roadwheels and scratchbuilt headlight guard. BTR-T turret: Added reciever and barrel from DML BMP-2 kit. DPM turret: fixed position of Ammo holding bracket and made new brass catch bag from kleenex.

The BTR-T was designed to take remanufactured T-54/55 hulls and make them into Urban Infantry supprt vehicles. It has the same 2A72 30mm autocannon as on the BMP-2, but it has been stripped down into a remote operated turret and has much more extreem elevation capability. Also included is a mount to shoot the AT-4/5 ATGM which can use a thermobaric (fuel air explosive) warhead which is ideal for use against bunkers and buildings.

Painted in Russian tricolor of Green/Sand/Black using Model Master acrylics. Oil glazes and washes were used along with wet/dry pigments and pastels.
