I`m glad to show you my new model which was built for the Russian/Soviet theme Contest. The Pz III Ausf.J of the 107th Tank batalion which was repainted in russian green (4BO) and got russian markings was chosen as a prototype for my model.
This is the conversion of Tamiya`s PzKpfw III Ausf.L to Pz III Ausf.J using details of Zvezda`s Pz III F. Certainly I used a large number of aftermarket. Four sets of PE and gun barrel from Aber. White metal tracks and drive sprockets from Friul. MiG commander`s cupola. Exhausts from Moskit and MG-34 from Model-point.
Painting: the base color is tamiya acrylic XF-24 for panzergrau, then I sprayed russian green (a mixture of XF-51, XF-58 and XF-4). Then three layers of filters from Sin Industries for green were added. The washes were made with 502 Abt. oils. Chips to panzergrau were painted with small brush and sponge with Vallejo acrylics. Finally Rubbel Dust pigment from MiG was added.
The work took two month and the following sets were used:
