This is the DML "Cobra" M4A1 built as a Sherman IIa in Italy, Nov 44. There is a photo of this vehicle crossing a river in Dennis Olivers "British Sherman Tanks", and a colour profile in his new book, "British Armour in Sicily & Italy". The Queen's Bays were part of the 2nd Armd Bde of Ist Armoured Div, and the divisional sign, a charging rhino, can be seen on the vehicle.
The model was built pretty much OOTB, with some Hobbyfan stowage from their Stuart crew kit, and a few scratchbuilt bits and pieces and stuff from the spares box. The solitary rear fender was by Eduard. The turret crew were from the aforementioned Hobbyfan set, and the driver was a Tamiya figure from the Churchill kit.
The markings were from the spares box, except the rear "3B" marking which was painted on.
