Here we have the Trumpeter E-10 paper panzer. A nice little kit that went together well , and quick! There really isn’t much to the kit. It is shown here in the hull down, or firing position. This is shown in one picture on the box, but interestingly not in the instructions. This is easy to do by simply using a round file to make the suspension mounting holes round, then rotating to the desired position. In this position the entire tank is lower than a Sherman’s hull top! In a prepared position this would have been a tough nut to crack. The kit comes with 4 sets of tracks! Early and late, in both plastic individual links, and rubber band . I used the band tracks in the interest of a quick build. Be advised, these do NOT glue with regular glue. Also, be aware that you MUST use the appropriate drive sprocket with the right tracks. Like I bonehead, I installed the late sprocket, and painted and weathered the early tracks!#$@. It pays to look at the instructions more closely. The only non standard thing I did was to redo joint of the upper and lower hull at the front. This sort of sticks out there for all to see and needs some attention so as not to obviously look like a model. I added weld beads along the side and flame cut detail on the sides and front. The flame cut along the top is kit supplied and superb. The kit also comes with PE for the screens and the machine gun armor (as seen) as well as side skirts, which I did not install. The PE is quite thick compared to most I have worked with. One downside to this little beast is there is almost nowhere to add stowage. There is a little room in the middle, otherwise you would have to build racks of some sort. One problem the tank would have had if actually built this way is the way the tow cables are stowed completely blocks any view from the side periscopes. Painted with Model Master enamels. Oil washes and some of my wife’s makeup for dust. A fun quick build and I would highly recommend it. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
