This was a 'clean out the spares bin' project. I had a number of left over items from my Magach 6B Gal Batash build (http://www.track-link.net/forum/site_gallery/22693) and an old M60A2 'Starship' that I'd built some years ago so I decided to kit bash them together to build this model. This is basically the final version of the Israeli M-60 with ERA. It has the 'Gal' FCS, the extended turret basket, Merkava Mk. II tracks, and the M48 style steel roadwheels (except for the number two roadwheel which is still the Aluminum design).
I used plastic parts from the Academy M60 'Blazer' for the turret and ERA and a reworked hull from the Tamiya M60A2. To that I added some left over Legend resin parts, most notably the rear stowage basket and the barrel. Since this was a use up old parts project, I scratch built most of the 'Gal' modifications including the new gunner's 'doghouse', the box behind the commander's cupola, the ammo rack, the wind sensors, and numerous small detail parts. I did break down and buy Friul tracks since the Academy ones are just too still to get to sit correctly. The figure is a left over from the CMK set I used on my Batash build. Additional detail came from left over Eduard photoetch.
The model was finished using Model Master enamals, oil washes, and a limited amount of pigments. [View discussion] [Discuss my model]
