Type 3 Ho-Ni III tank destroyer is a late-war design that utilized medium Chi-Ha's chassis. Armament - 75-mm gun, same as Chi-Nu's gun. Armor - up to 25 mm. Units, equipped with Ho-Ni III SPGs were located in the Home Islands and never saw action.
I enjoyed building this vehicle: the parts' fit and molding quality are great. I've added Friulmodel tracks (vinyl are good, but not perfect:) and Elf headlight; a small PE fret was in the box already.
I've chosen the most interesting Japanese 4-tone camo - parched grass+green+brown with yellow stripes, thought it wasn't common in 44-45. The vehicle was finished as a one on maneuver. I used Tamiya enamel and acrylic paints and W&N oils. MIG pigments were used to simulate mud, rust & dust, and acrylic - for the rain marks. Metal tracks were rusted in the most natural way - using water, then washed with oils and dusted with pigments. Insignia - FineMolds decals and Japanese flag, painted by hand.
