Map Check
The 234-4 is the old Italeri kit, which I made the interior for from scratch, long before the Dragon kit hit the market. I used real pics from the very deteriorated 234-4 at Fort Knox when I was stationed there in 2000-2001. The figures are a mix of Warriors and Alpine, the motorcycle is from Italeri. The snow is made of plaster, with a layer of Baking Soda on top and then airbrushed white. I purposely left the entire scene covered in a solid blanket of snow as opposed to having patches of mud showing, because I wanted to portray the extreme cold and heavy snow on the Russian front. The gate wall is from Italeri with a PE gate from a local German manufacturer. The 234-4 was first painted using Tamiya German Yellow and then a cloud pattern of white. With several filters of Life color white and washes of browns. Each being repeated several times to achieve the deteriorated white wash affect. The interior was left in the German Yellow color. I also used the MIG technique of mapping, which I found very useful in this case. The figures were painted using Vallejo and Oils, except for the two Alpine figures which were painted completly in oils as I wanted to achieve the rubber look for the Motorcycle Kradmantel.
