Sd.Kfz 186 Jagdtiger, 2/s.Pz.Jg.Abt.512, Padeborn, April 1945

Model by Vladimir Yashin

Colleagues, I introduce you one of my long projects.
Initially I was going to build Kubinka Jagdtiger but the photos of another interesting vehicle were found. This was late Jagdtiger of 2/512 s.Pz.Jg.Abt. with interesting marking, which was abandoned by crew in Ruhr pocket under Padeborn in April 1945 because of the lack of fuel. It was chosen as a prototype.

The model is DML`s Premium Jagdtiger (6265). The wheels and small details as Bosch light, tools, antenna, towing hooks and etc. were taken from Tamiya King Tiger. The towing mechanism between exhausts was taken from DML`s Imperial late Jagdtiger. The crane attachment points, wiring to headlight, handles, welding seams and molten numbers are scratch built. Transparent periscopes were detailed with foil pieces, to reproduce mirrors. The PE set and fenders are from lion Roar, MG-34 and gun barrel from Model-Point. Drive sprockets and tracks are white metal from Friulmodel. Exhausts replaced by Moskit. Kables – Karaya with Tamiya`s eyelets. Wing nuts are resin from Tank. The anti-air MG-42 is resin from Voyager with ventilation holes cut by myself with very sharp knife. It is detailed with shell cartridge from Tank and Tamiya`s PE sight.

The model is painted with Tamiya acrylics XF-59, 64, 61. Then the SIN filters for tri-tonal camo were applied. Washing - 502 Abt paint Wash Brown mixed with Black. The chips made with Tamiya enamels. "Y" letters were stenciled. The dust with imitation of rain marks made with MIG pigment Dry Mud.

The following kits were used:
Dragon 6265 - model
Tamiya 35164 - road wheels, tools
Lion Roar Le35016 - PE
Lion Roar Le35014 - fenders
Friulmodel ATL-16 - tracks
