Landing Craft Personnel (Ramped)

This is the old Revell UDT Boat built as a LCP(R), with armoured sides. It's a fairly basic kit and there was some talk about scale but it was fun build and will form part of a larger project. The figures are a mix of Tamiya. I used Hornet heads for the USN crew and remodelled their jackets a little. The radio chap is from the Verlinden set. The storage is from a variety of sources and the life jackets are from U Models. Eventually the LCP(R) will for part of a large dio depicting activity in a small English Harbour.

The LCP(R) was a fairly common LC in the Pacific but seems to have been relegated to the role of water taxi in NWE, the LCA, LCVP and the LCP(L) being more numerous. I only found one pic of an armoured version in use on D Day although there may have been many more. They were also used as Command and Control Craft with a basic cabin/super structure.
