T-72M

Model by Michael Harris

The original kit is a Hobbycraft Iraqi T-72. Kit #HC6007. I used the book T-72 Soviet main battle tank by Steve Zaloga from Concord publications to build a Soviet version. I wanted to make a tank that looked like it was on training maneuvers in the 1980’s.

It was built OOTB with the minor changes such as the rearrangement of on tank equipment. It was painted with Tamiya acrylics and detailed with oil washes. It was dry brushed with a combination of paints. The Russian identification flag and camouflage tarp were made from foil. There were extra bits from the parts bin used all over the tank urret.

My tank commander was from the box. It was horrible. The only change was a wire from the front part of the NVG's draped over the helmet to the back. He was painted in the same fashion as the tank. The decals were from Eastern Express and left over from a kit that was forgotten in my spares box. Over all the kit was bad, but the right price at a local hobby store.

Thank you for looking.
