LCA

This is the Fonderie Minitures Landing Craft Assault. It's a very basic kit and needed a lot of work just to build it. Troops are representative of 48 RM Commando, mainly buily from the Tamiya British Infantry set with a few additions.and kitted out with a mixture of kit mainly from the Accurate Armour Infantry set and some Resicast 2" mtrs. I used Hornet heads and the skipper is from Japanise Armour King. The other 2 sailors are conversions of Tamiya Tankers.

Paints were acrylic based and additional boxes and stowage came from Billings Boat Accessories, Accurate Armour and the spares box.

These craft were widely used by the Allies during the landing both in Italy and Normandy. There low profile and reasonably fast speed made them an effective means of getting troops ashore.
