This is a scratch built 1/35th scale British Type 28a Pillbox. Originally intended to take the 2-pounder gun, however by the time these were completed the 2-pounder was already considered obsolete as an anti-tank weapon and I decided to install the 6-pounder as the most likely alternative for that time. Over 28,000 Pillboxes were constructed in the United Kingdom between 1940 & 41 although today there are less than 6,000 left. My one formed part of the GHQ line that was intended to slow down the German advance following the invasion of Southern England.
All measurements for the structure were taken from a real type 28a near my home in Essex. The gun is from Testors, which I believe is the same kit as the Airfix. The crew are from the Tamiya 6-pounder kit.
I was a real joy to build, despite many setbacks. I hope you like it
