Convenient Friends

This model is based on a photo I came across while researching another diorama. The photo shows Germans and Russians together in September 1939 when they held a parade in the town of Brest Litovsk, Poland, just after the Germans invaded from one side and the Russians from the other. I thought the photo was interesting as we normally think of these two armies at each others throats, not chumming around shaking hands and slapping each other on the back. How times changed.

The vehicle is a Soviet BA20 Armoured Car. The figures are a mix of Tamiya, Dragon and ICM.
