5cm AT Gun

Model by Brent McCombs

This is Dragon's 50mm Anti-Tank gun built straight from the box. In the photos it's 95 percent finished, though I still have to paint the tyres rubber grey/black.

A very nice kit, it builds up quickly, though there are a couple very fragile and fidly parts. Other than that, I think this is one of the best new kits to hit the shelves in the past year or so.

FINISH
I base coated the kit in black primer from Games Workshop, then misted over 3 progresively lightened (with white) coats of Tamiya German Grey.

The wooden handles are base coated in Humbrol flesh tone, and then 'streaked' with burnt sienna oil.

After this I applied localized washes of rust coloured windsor & newton oils - mostly around bolt heads and recessed areas.

Next I applied a dry-brush of sorts, using two arts-shop oil pencils, first a burnt steel colour to most wear areas, and finally, very sparingly, a bright silver.

The figures seen in one image are DML offerins with resin heads, and they are under construction for use in a small diorama with the AT gun. The base is just a generic base I have laying about.
