Croatian T55

Model by Valter Turkalj

Croatian T55 from a very old Esci kit, I made one of the first croatian T55's that were taken from the yugoslav army panzerbases in croatia during liberation war 1991.
This modeltank is made after a photo and fought in the Lika region in the vicinity of the town Otocac. The great thing about the croatian forces is that no other tank is just alike the other one, all have diffrent camoflages, armament, markings, homemade sideskirts etc etc specially during the first years of the conflict.

Model is very basic, out of the box, DSHK AAMG was replaced with a Browning .30 MG, tanker leaterhelmet from Tamiya, ammo belt, camoflage net from Verlinden as well as the ammo boxes on the engine deck other items like the us kevlar helmet, AK47, are taken from the "scrapbox".
The nationalmarking on the front called "GRB" in croatian is handpainted and the turret numbers.
Model is painted with Tamiya acrylics and Testor enamels.
