M4A3 Sherman Tank, PTO 1945

This is a Tamiya M4A3 Sherman that has been modified to represent Shermans used during the taking of Iwo Jima. As you probably noticed, I am very influenced by the work of Lynn Kessler(if only I was half as good) The wading trunk was scratch-built as were the basswood planks for stand-off armor. Screen hatch covers on driver and ass't driver hatches are made from actual screen. Mantlet cover is made from a gauze bandage. This one is a favorite of my history students.
