Iraqi Up-Armored T-55

Model by Eugene Dykstra

Right after the Gulf War was over, a friend of mine sent me some pics of a "boneyard" he'd spotted while traveling through Kuwaite. These included shots of an unusual T55 that really got me thinking (I believe it's since been taken to France). In any case, I traded with a friend for a conversion kit, which seemed to have most of the parts necessary to make the conversion, so . . .
I remember being surprised at how "sloppy" the Iraqi conversion really was -- as if they'd thrown it together out of spare parts. I think my model accurately reflects that shoddy design work. The marking on the turret was in the pics my friend sent, and I have no idea what (if anything) it represents.
