This is a Tamiya Limited edition late Tiger 1 tank. Also started on some time ago and put on a shelf. This was the first tank I used Humbrol's putty to make the zimmerit with. Humbrol's putty was even faster then Italeri's to cure. Problems I experianced with it was not only fast drying but sticking more to the tools and fingers then on the model it itself, so I instead soaked my fingers in water and used some cleaning benzine (that you can find in any shopingmall) "weting" the putty while you apply it on the model. Also prevents the putty to stick on the tools you use.
Model is detailed with Airwaves engine deck covers, Plastic card, Jordi Rubio gun and side-skirts are from a CMK's Bergetiger. Hope to get it done soon.
2001-02-11: Model is now to 99% done,tracks are done along the decals,camoflage,wheatering etc etc... more will be added with new pictures... please feel free to ask any question.
2001-03-29: Finally just the night before IPMS Open 2001 in Stockholm I finished my Tiger! Model recived a basecoat of Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow followed by it's Dark Green and Red Brown. It was later allowed to dry for 3 days before I applied a wash with oil paints and pastels. Some of the tool's are missing also the tow cable on the right side. The tracks were painted in matt black and pastels were brushed on. On all the roadwheels I used a ordinary pencil the make the weared surface also on all edge's on the turret and chassi. The Tiger represents SpzAbt 505 serving on the russian front 1944.
