Here is my Gunze-Sangyo Jagdpanther. I built it almost straight from the box but used an On-The-Mark Models upgrade kit. The kit was actually for an early version, but I wanted to build the final production type. The kit supplied the late model mantlet, which I used, and I rebuilt the mono-bloc barrel to the later two piece type. I borrowed the raised engine fan from an old Nichimo Panther Ausf. G. I decided to paint my Jagdpanther in the ambush scheme with a hard edged pattern. The model was airbrushed overall with Tamiya Dark Yellow, with a couple of drops of green added. The ambush scheme was hand painted with Tamiya dark green and red brown. I used my own masks and sprayed the crosses and used Letraset rub-ons for the numbers. I used the methods outlined in my weathering article. The barrel is wrapped in mourning veil to represent chicken wire used to hold vegetation, which was made from dried roots and parsley flakes. My model represents a typical Jagdpanther used in North West Europe in 1945.
