I am 43 years old and have been modelling since i was 8, although i did take a break during the 12 years that i was in the Army, it was infact my time in the army that got me interested in modelling again. When i became a Soviet recognition instructor, i wanted some 3 dimensional models, and as the training budget in my unit was low, I used roco and trident models heavily modified to represent soviet vehicles, as time went on i got more adventurous and started building my own from scratch, when i eventually returned to the UK in 1995,with a huge collection of roco vehicles, i found it difficult to keep up, until i discovered 1/72nd scale, I now do all my modelling in this scale and usually mainly Russian vehicles, although i do branch out now and again to include NATO, but not very often.
