A pair of M548's at Bovington on a vehicle movement display day. The second vehicle (with crane) was called Forward Area Support (FAST) Vehicles and was used to provide maintenance and support to the Tracked Rapier System and was operated by a crew of two with a front-mounted crane, text equipment, vhf radio and assorted spare parts and technical components.

The standard vehicle (without crane) was used primarily with the Tracked Rapier System and was designated M548 TRSV (Tracked Rapier Support Vehicle). The vehicle was mainly used to resupply the Tracked Rapier System, 20 such missiles could be carried in the rear of the vehicle. Above the cabin is a ring mount and this can be fitted with a 7.62mm GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) for close air defence. Both vehicles were used by quite a few nations and the British vehicles were very similar to their American cousins.
