United Defense LP Lynx
Bocington Tank Museum, Dorset, UK

Photo Series by Tim White

This is Bovingtons own Lynx in Canadian colours and can be seen on vehicle display days. The Lynx uses automotive components from the M113 also produced by United Defense. Canada purchased 174 while the Netherlands ordered 250-the Dutch version differs slightly with driver front left and a 12.7mm MG HB MG in the centre whereas the canadian version has a M26 turret manually traversing through 360 degrees (armed with same weapon which can remote fire from inside the APC). The radio operater has a pintle-mounted 7.62mm MG, this weapon does not appear on Bovingtons example.

Lynx is fully amphibious being driven in water by its tracks, optional kit offered were NBC detection kits, different armaments and a capstan winch. Lynx is soon, if not already, being phased out of service with the above mentioned countries.
