This set from Verlinden contains 105 very small (largest piece is less that 1/8 inch square and the smallest is less than half that) buckles, clasps, catches, and clips with three to five examples of each item. There are no straps or tie downs as indicated in the title, only the hardware that would go with those items.
The individual pieces of hardware are very well rendered, but are so small, I question whether someone with my skill will ever be able to successfully remove them from the fret, much less utilize them on a model. No directions or written description of the items was provided, although there are some diagrams of the items as they would appear in use (there appear to be diagrams of items that are not provided). A written description of each item, who used it (US, US, German, etc), and how to assemble it (several items appear to need folds to represent the pieces in the diagrams) would have been very helpful (which should go without saying).
The fret is in brass and is 1 3/16 inch long by 13/16 of an inch wide. I could not judge the thickness without a micrometer although I would say it is the thickness of material from an soda can. Considering I paid $5.75 for the item from my favorite online discount retailer, this makes for a very expensive $5.95 per square inch of fret.
Conclusion: I have to rate the item lowly, primarily because of lack of clear directions and price. Although, as I mentioned above, the items appear to represent the subject accurately, had I known what I was getting, I would not have purchased them.
