For all the new releases and re-releases of Shermans, some of the most interesting are the British and Commonwealth tanks that operated in North Africa and Italy.
In many of the period photos, there is a stowage bin added to the turret bustle of the 75mm armed tank. This bin is of the type used on the Crusader tank.
Ultracast's item is a single piece beautifully cast in tan resin. After removing it from the cardboard header and the Ziploc bag, a razor saw is used to remove the part from the sprue.
Be careful as the top edge is very delicately modeled to scale. I ended up breaking a piece from the center but I'll call it battle damage on my vehicle.
The detail on the item is very well done with the hinges and hasps well defined. There are two L shaped beams which will act as the turret mounts. Cyanoacrylate glue will be necessary. For the photos, I mounted it on a Formations Models early turret.
Thanks to Kevin at Ultracast for the sample.
