Anyone that has seen pictures of armored vehicles knows that the crews throw all sorts of stuff all over.  Their chariot is also their home.  If any period seems to symbolize vehicles festooned with paraphernalia it is the U.S. Army during World War II.

So you have your Academy or AFV Club late M-10 all done except it seems to be lacking that final touch.  You don’t feel confident to sculpt your own rucksacks or, you don’t feel the old tissue and white glue tarps look just correct or, you just want to finish the project and save some time to get started on the next masterpiece.  Well  BLAST MODELS has the answer for you.

What you get in the accessory kit from BLAST are 6 pieces of resin cast GI equipment.  The pieces seem to be made to fit the Academy kit but would probably would be useful for the AFV Club kit as well. I personally do not have the late war M10 but most of the pieces seem to fit my early M-10 were appropriate.

The pieces are flawless cast with the set that I have having absolutely no air bubbles and virtually no carrier blocks to clean up. The way the pieces are cast and sculpted insures a very realist lay of the items against the hull and turret.  One item seems like a field modification of a wooden storage rack.  Most of the items are generic tarps. A few recognizable items are standard U.S. vehicle shovel, tank idler wheel adjusting wrench, U.S. jerry cans, .30 cal ammo box, cardboard C-Ration box, duffle bag,M1936 musette bag and a war booty teddy bear.  The only criticism I would make about the equipment is that the M1936 musette bag is sculpted rather ‘round’.  It is actually a rectangular in shape and from my experience only appear sort of round when partially filled.

Overall a useful set and worth the admission price.  I would suggest that if you are entering a competition to make your own add ons because these will be popular and on just about every M10.
