Ausfwerks is a small business which brings together several excellent product ranges and produces their own tools under the Ausfwerks Design label. They also have another label, Ausfwear, which produces clothing…at the moment, only T-shirts.
As usual for Ausfwerks, the items were shipped the next day after confirming the order. Being in the same state, I received the package the next day so it was like Next Day Air for the cost of the state tax.
The third T-shirt I used has the Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 505 Unit Insignia (a knight on a horse with a lance in two colors, black and green) on the front and the Ausfwear logo and Zug formations on the back. Made from 100% pre-shrunk cotton, it has a faded look thanks the washing or pre-shrinking process. It is garment dyed which means that the shirt was dyed after manufacture so even the label is an appealing yellow (referred to by Ausfwerks as Dunkelgelb); the printing made with a stencil seems like it was painted on. To test durability, I stuck it in the washer for five cycles with two in the dryer with heat.
As shown in the photos, the T-shirt has the same as when I took it out of the package. The size is quite roomy and larger than stated. Also, the fabric is very soft and comfortable. After a very brisk walk with the dog, I felt rather cool as the cotton wicks away any perspiration. Best of all, the wife stated that I should not wear any of them to the workshop as they are nice enough to ‘go outside with’, how’s that for a recommendation?
Ausfwear can be bought directly from Ausfwerk’s web site. The quality does indeed justify the price.
