Tiger Model Designs continue their comeback with this entry specifically designed for any Dragon Sherman kit except those with three piece transmission covers. Like most of the other new sets, they are simple updates and replace kit parts directly.
In photo one; you see the package of the subject of this review. In a ©ZipLoc bag, backed with a card header, we find two parts without any sprues. They are in TMD’s gray resin with the reproduction one has come to expect in that there are no bubbles, blobs, or pinholes on the parts. There is some flash which is easy to remove. See photo 2.
Assembly is simple enough. Use these parts instead of the undersized Dragon items. See photo three. The Dragon part is above and the TMD item is below.
A lot of detail has been added to the parts and include casting numbers as well as mounting holes. This is an excellent start to a diorama.
My only concern is the price which is a little on the high side if the buyer plans to cover most of that lovely detail with the drive sprocket. In that case, a half star would be lost. Dragon’s (as well as Italeri’s) drive sprocket slip over the TMD items and turn freely. I hope TMD continues this trend of simple upgrades.
