The Czechoslovakian 38t tank is a very popular model for armor enthusiasts. Tamiya, DML and Tristar have come out with some beautiful renditions of this tank and its variants lately. With all the separate track links, turned barrels and photo-etch available there is one glaring omission from the kits and aftermarket companies. That is until now.

The Czechoslovakian built 38t has a very distinct coaxial and hull machine gun. It looks like something out of an old Flash Gordon movie. Till now the best you could do would be to scratch-build the barrel using a punch and die set along with a photo-etched guard (as I did on my 35t) or turn your own barrel.

LionMarc has come up with a solution for this unique machine gun, the ZB37. What you get is 2 turned brass barrels depicting the very fine cooling fins, 2 pre-bent photo-etched gun guards (or are they braces?) and 3 sites. It is a simple method to cut clean the area you want to add the gun, drill out a small hole and glue all the parts together. What is really nice is you can leave the gun separate to paint from the guard which usually the color of the vehicle. All the parts are ready to assemble.

This simple but very effective modeling detail is really worth it. It can be used on any Czechoslovakian tank (35t or 38t) or any of the 38t variants that used the gun.

Highly recommended.
